Janet A. Burch -

Passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Burch as well as her parents and brother. She will be remembered by her daughter, Diana (Bruce) Lallathin; granddaughters, Lara (Brian) Beaman, Carrie Lallathin, and great granddaughter, Mackenzie Kraft. Janet was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Earl and Ruby (Kaufman) Hill. She came to Jackson when she was a young girl and graduated from Jackson High School. Mr. and Mrs. Burch were married in 1957 and together they started, owned and operated Burch Industries. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Janet volunteered at Henry Ford Allegiance making greeting cards for patients. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and playing cards with a wide circle of wonderful friends. She loved animals including her dog Gracie, who was very well cared for. Janet touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Burch had a strong faith in the Lord and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. A service celebrating her life will be held at the Chas. J. Burden and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Somerset Center Cemetery. Memorial flowers may be sent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter, the Humane Society, or the First Church of the Nazarene.
